Scorpio is over!! Let’s Party!! Welcome to the holiday season!! (Can you guess my sign?)

Wait—a few words of caution—Sag is notorious for over indulging. Be mindful of what you consume. What you put into your body and life is exactly what you get out of it!!

It’s a Sag New Moon and I’m almost speechless. There isn’t much cosmic finger wagging... this one shall be somewhat of an easy ride!! And you deserve it. Somewhere between the Virgo New Moon and the Taurus New Moon things got pretty intense. If anything is going on this New Moon, it’s some liberating energy that will take you to the next level if you are open. But don’t worry there is always work to do!! You don’t read this for nothing.

There are a whole stack of planets in Sagittarius: The Moon, Sun, Mars and Mercury. Since these are all personal planets—meaning they affect you in a grounded, every day sort of way I can tell you that things may feel lighter than they have been. The Moon and Sun in Sag really open you up to new ways of being, living and feeling. Now is a great time to explore, ponder and set some intentions for what is really important to you. Sagittarius helps you manifest greatness, because it draws you into an ever expanding reality that is not limited by material perception. This cuts two ways. If you are asking for something large—make sure you have the faith, focus and will to back it up! Archers hit the mark because they focus and are grounded! Also be prepared to get what you asked for. Know that you’ve done the work and can handle it. God does not inspire you to ask for things you cannot handle!! And if more stuff comes up after your request, know that it is preparing you to receive your wish—don’t give up!

With Mars and Mercury in Sag—you will be inspired to open your mind, and share your knowledge which is a good thing. But, be aware of a Sagittarian trait of allowing its’ battleship mouth to sink its’ row boat ass. Sag’s often suffer from foot in mouth disease and a hot temper—so be mindful of what you say, and how you receive the words of others. Things are not always what they seem to be.

We are still working with Saturn in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces. This energy is a blessing and can really anchor you. With four personal planets in Sagittarius there may be a tendency to try to ask for or do too much. Saturn in Virgo opposition to Uranus in Pisces lets you know that yes: everything is possible when you are in Divine alignment. Whatever you desire you will be blessed with (Uranus in Pisces), but you must do the work (Saturn in Virgo). If you find yourself knocked down or shot down by material reality, look deeply into the situation. Have you done everything necessary to receive what you are asking for? Have you taken responsibility and done the work. I will say as a Sadge, sometimes we don’t do the work and shirk responsibility. This aspect will keep us all honest in 3D reality.

But don’t hold on too tightly to 3D reality—we’re actually supposed to be in the 4^th dimension, and there are many more beyond that. Since there is always more, don’t allow Jupiter in Capricorn’s trine with Saturn in Virgo to hold you back. Yeah, there are laws to living in material reality, but you can evolve beyond them by doing your soul work and expanding your perception of reality! If you watch the news (which I do not suggest) there is so much fear. You read about the economy, experience the economy first hand and there isn’t always an expression of hope that things will get better. Things will get better when we decide they will and stop being dictated to by the media about what’s going down. The American Economy is based on our consciousness. When the people feel prosperous—they spend—when they don’t they won’t spend... yet I digress...

Speaking of abundance Venus in Capricorn trines Saturn in Virgo; meaning if you want to attract some material goodies and have done the heavy lifting you can have whatever you want. Since there is a lot of Saturn energy here I reiterate: only if you’ve done the work. And since Saturn is present I also warn you not to engage in fear mongering about your finances!! Saturn encourages fear and restriction so you can bust through it. Since this is during a Sag New Moon I invite you to temper fear with faith in abundance and a knowing that your needs are always Divinely supplied for. So focus on expanding your perceptions around material reality and what it means to be here for you.

Venus in Capricorn is also sextile to Uranus in Pisces, which presents a space where all are welcome at the table for fellowship. With Venus in Capricorn you have the ability to at least be polite to everyone as they gather and Uranus in Pisces deepens that politeness to sincere admiration and respect. We all have a special place at the table and a necessary role in the planet’s evolution. If there is someone you would like to understand better and come to a peaceful space with—now is a great time.

Be aware that Uranus is coming out of retrograde soon; meaning that the desire to evolve out of general shenanigans and into Oneness will sharply increase. I will post more on that soon.

So when my sister called today wondering what I remembered about being in a cinema watching Ben Hur during the coup in Kuala Lumpur on May 13, 1969, I immediately thought of my Saturn in Scorpio retro in the 9th house. I have a deep and focused need to get to the bottom of what’s really going on including matters of politics and social conditionings among other things.

I was almost 14 and my Mom had taken me and my younger brothers and sisters to the show while my Dad was in Australia on business. The noises and smells in the theatre were intense and I have strong visceral recollections of that first time I saw Ben Hur taken away into slavery or visiting his mother and sister exiled at a leper colony. The passion and horror of the film overwhelmed me.

The Dow Jones average continued its spectacular slide last week, ending with the average below 8000 for the first time since 2003.

It's interesting to look at the history of the rise of the DJIA. In November 1972 the average rose about 1,000 for the first time ever. In November 1995 the average closed above 5,000 for the first time, a 400% increase that averages 17% per year. By March of 1999, with Pluto in Sagittarius, the Dow had risen to 10,000, a 25% per year increase, and October 2006 saw the Dow above 12,000 for the first time despite an intervening tech bubble and terrorist attack that weakened the markets.

If we take the average of the Dow Jones index from the 1972 price point of 1,000 to Friday's close at 8,000 we still have an average increase of 19% per year which is extremely reasonable by anyone's standards and shows the kind of ridiculous expectations that the relentless optimism® of Pluto in Sagittarius brought about.

At any rate, over the past few days the Moon has been in Virgo where it is more conservative and favors thrift over investment, and Friday the approached a conjunction to Saturn that will have passed by the time the markets open on Monday. By that time the Sun will have moved into Sagittarius where it will conjunct both Mercury and Mars which are already in Sag, and the mood will be much more optimistic.

Interesting. I have this flurry of ideas - good ones even and by all rights I shouldn’t. I am going to shift gears into this class (don’t worry I will) but I also have a story half written, 700 things to do in real life, plus all these ideas keep coming to me. For example, sociopaths!

I was thinking about them as I stood outside in the cold grilling chicken in my socks like a freak. I know so much about them that by God, I may know as much about them as anyone out there you could find (save Lonnie Athens) and due this I know some things not so common to know.

One reason it's impossible to offer accurate predictions using astrology is that the planets don't influence us in any kind of uniform manner. One person's Pluto transit to Mars will be very different from that of another person. Pluto is like a heat-seeking missile: it looks for areas in our lives that aren't working, and nukes them. If everything is working properly we instead see the best of Pluto: an intense infusion of empowerment that helps us to become strong and better able to transform our lives. Pluto is like a tornado that whips through a community and destroys flimsy mobile homes but leaves more solid structures intact.
As Pluto travels through Capricorn until 2023, it will be destroying and rebuilding certain parts of the world governments, banking systems, and corporations that fall under the Capricorn domain, and this is why the current US Treasury plan of throwing billions of dollars at crumbling financial institutions and corporations like General Motors will not work. This is not to say that the government should just allow the delicate economic web to fail, but using a trategy from the soon to be defunct Pluto in Sagittarius era such as hoping for the return to increased optimism and confidence (Sagittarian traits) by pumping lots of cash into bad companies will no longer work under the seriousness of Capricorn, which is more concerned with function than image.

General Motors, the leader of the US car industry, is a good example of an effect of the shift from Pluto in Sagittarius to Capricorn. Under Pluto in Sagittarius, GM drank the Sagittarian kool-aid that bigger is better, and what goes up will never come down and its Hummer line is a great example of that principle. America's love for SUVs disappeared last summer when gas hit $4 a gallon, and GM was left without a Plan B and with a much lower budget for research and development than other car companies.

To be Scorpio is to be a phoenix. The Scorpio part of us is drawn to experiences which undo us, which destroy us. This is out of a need to burn away everything that is not truly essential, everything that’s dross, everything that’s not us. The key is to train this “death urge” (Freud named it “thanatos”) to destroy our negative personality traits and not our most tender heart.

In November 2008 and throughout 2009/10, we are entering one of the most exciting periods in recent history in which to implement change. Most of us are starting to see the winds of change blowing through our external lives already, but the principles of astrology tell us that everyone, everywhere, will be responding at the internal level during these next 2 weeks to the move of Mars into Sagittarius (it transitioned this past weekend and stays until after Xmas) and the movement of Pluto into Capricorn (25th Nov for 17 years). Additionally, all this is taking place against the ongoing backdrop of the Saturn/Uranus opposition (to 2010).
